Back to Ways of Living

My life and my culture has been formed and shaped by this religion, and I consider myself a Christian.  Ask what a Christian is and you may get varying definitions or lists of basic Christian beliefs.

I was always taught, however, that there was only one core belief that one must hold in order for one to call oneself a Christian:

     John 3:16 (NIV):
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."

This is the core belief and all the other beliefs that are found in all the various Christian denominations are secondary to the Christian faith.
