"When you arise in the
morning, give thanks
for the morning light, for your life and strength.
Give thanks for your food, and the joy of living.
If you see no reason for giving thanks, the fault
lies with yourself...."

Wisdom, what is it? It must involve: tolerance, humor, a sense of playfulness, gentleness and perhaps joy mixed with sorrow.
A.K. Smith--2005
*The flow...of one's life, eddies, still pools, torrents...Should we sample it, dipping in here and there--or should we immerse ourself abandoning ourselves to the flow--willy nilly?
Aloneness...why choose this? Or do we choose? Perhaps we just follow an ordained path?
The variety of people--seemingly infinite--a delight and a sorrow.
Joy mixed with sorrow--is it inevitable that this incredible existence be combined with loss?
I am sitting here watching a young girl intensely observing a bee as it bumbles its way between blooming petunias. The adults around her of course don't even notice the bee, or if they did, they probably immediately assigned it to their list of "known things" and thought no more about it. The young child, still to construct her list, was fascinated. Some people, you may have noticed, retain this sense of childlike curiosity and wonder throughout their lives, always eager to revise and update their lists. What type of person are you? 5Sep2005
