Miyamoto Musashi

     Musashi was perhaps one of the most skilled Japanese swordsman of all times.  He became legendary from numerous duels, founded a style of swordsmanship (Niten Ryu) and wrote The Book of Five Rings, a book of strategy, tactics and philosophy that is still studied to this very day.
